Welcome to GiveBetter ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website at givebetter.app or scheduling a donation pickup, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
GiveBetter provides a free donation pickup service in Burlington and Chittenden County, Vermont. Donors submit a request through our website with details and photos of their items and select a vetted nonprofit cause. We pick up the items at no cost, sell them, and send the proceeds to the nonprofit the donor selected.
Once GiveBetter picks up your donated items, ownership of those items transfers to GiveBetter. We have sole discretion over how items are sold, priced, distributed, or otherwise disposed of. Donors may not reclaim items after pickup has occurred.
GiveBetter does not guarantee any minimum sale price, proceeds amount, or that all donated items will be sold. Some items may be recycled, repurposed, or disposed of if we determine them to be unsellable. The amount of proceeds generated from any donation is entirely at GiveBetter's discretion and depends on market conditions, item condition, and other factors.
Donors may select a vetted nonprofit cause to receive the proceeds from their donated items. GiveBetter reserves the right to redirect proceeds to another vetted cause if the selected organization becomes unavailable, loses its nonprofit status, or is otherwise unable to receive funds.
GiveBetter may refuse to accept items that are damaged, hazardous, contaminated, recalled, or otherwise unsellable. Acceptance of items is at GiveBetter's sole discretion. We reserve the right to decline any donation request or refuse specific items at the time of pickup. Items should be clean and in usable condition.
Pickup scheduling is subject to availability, weather, and operational capacity. GiveBetter may reschedule or cancel a pickup at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any changes to your scheduled pickup.
When you upload photos or other content through our website, you grant GiveBetter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content for purposes related to our services, including but not limited to evaluating donation requests, marketing, and promotional materials. You represent and warrant that you have the right to share any content you upload and that it does not infringe on any third party's rights.
GiveBetter may provide donation receipts as a courtesy. However, donors are solely responsible for their own tax compliance and for determining the deductibility of their donations. GiveBetter makes no representations regarding the tax implications of any donation. Consult a qualified tax professional for advice regarding your specific situation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GiveBetter and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or our services shall not exceed the amount of fifty dollars ($50).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GiveBetter and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. GiveBetter does not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Vermont.
GiveBetter reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Changes become effective upon posting to this page. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
